Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor

How does one paint the tiny rigging on sailboats? With a handmade feather brush which medieval monks used for coloring illuminated manuscripts, of course. The lower part of the quill that is hallow, is cut and the upper part of the feather is trimmed and pulled through until a bit of the feather makes a terrific ultra-fine brush.
