Dear ,
This is a contract for commissioning your painting and will clarify the time and financial commitments I will need in order to paint you masterpiece.

My fee for this __________ portrait is $____________. In keeping with standard professional practices, I ask that you send me a copy of the signed contract and a deposit of 50% i.e. ______________ before I begin. The balance of the money would be payable when you accept the completed portrait. I will e-mail an image when I am happy with your painting to see if you are happy with it. I can do any changes you like at this time.

I will make every reasonable effort to create a work that satisfies you completely. If you are not completely satisfied with the painting, you will be under no obligation to accept it or to pay the balance of the money. However, the deposit and the artwork will be forfeited if you don’t accept the portrait.

The sketch or sketches will be sent to you without charge as a special gift.
Generally it will take at least 6 weeks before I will be able to send an image to you. If you need it by a specific date please let me know.
